Of the 35.3 million refugees worldwide just one out of every 309 are resettled. Arizona receives the 5th highest number of resettled refugees in the US.
Only the most vulnerable are resettled. Those resettled have physical protection needs such as survivors of violence or women & girls at risk.
After the UNHCR screening process, the US screening process includes -

5 Separate security databases
6 Background checks
2 In-person interviews.
